    I’ve been on a journey of Shijalit exploration, sampling different brands, and I’ve noticed that each one has a unique taste.

    Testosterone: a real, placebo-controlled result in men

    A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial found that purified shilajit (250 mg twice daily) significantly raised total testosterone, free testosterone, and DHEA over 90 days in healthy men aged 45–55, while keeping LH and FSH stable (Pandit et al., Andrologia 2016; DOI: 10.1111/and.12482).

    Metabolic support: traditional, but not a treatment

    Shilajit appears as an ingredient in traditional polyherbal formulas studied for blood sugar, but a review of that literature stresses the mechanisms are still unclear and challenges around dose and standardization remain — so it is a supportive food, not a diabetes therapy (Brahma et al., Current Diabetes Reviews 2024; DOI: 10.2174/1573399819666230314093721).

    Good to know: Two practical cautions: shilajit is a mineral resin that can be contaminated with heavy metals if it’s not purified — buy a tested, reputable source. And if you’re pregnant, on medication, or managing a health condition, check with your clinician first.
