Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes – The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind

Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes – The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind TheWellthieone

The biggest limiting belief that most people have is that it is going to take them “forever” to change something.

Why is this?  It is likely because they are not thinking in the present, they are thinking in the past.  They are focused on how their problem has affected them for SO LONG that they can’t just change it.

For example, if they have been smoking for the past 25 years, they see it as part of their identity.  They’ll say to themselves,

“How can I just change something I’ve been doing for 25 years!?”

Or

I’ve been heartbroken over this loss for over 3 years, I can’t just let go of it!

Or

I had things that were beyond my control happen to me and around me when I was young, and my addiction is a result.  I can’t change it!

These are examples of limiting beliefs that stop the ability to grow and change quickly.

People will say, change isn’t quick!  Change takes forever, and it is HARD!  Maybe for them.

But not for you, if you believe change doesn’t have to be hard or take a long time, it is up to you.

Quick change can be hard…for them. You are in control, and you decide how quickly or slowly you want to introduce change.
Quick change can be hard…for them. You are in control, and you decide how quickly or slowly you want to introduce change.

Your mindset is the ONLY thing stopping you from letting go of negative emotions that are holding you back.

Did you know that the emotions you feel control the actions you take?

If you are able to focus on the present and not focus on the negative emotions of the past that are causing you to stay stuck, then you can free yourself to quick positive change and growth.

That sounds great.  But how?

Real, quick change doesn’t happen consciously, it happens in the subconscious mind.

This is why going to a psychologist for months or years doesn’t work quickly, or often doesn’t help much at all.

In fact, going to appointments where they force you to focus on all sorts of things in your past that harmed you can do more damage than good for your recovery.

Doctors, who hardly know you,  offer suggestions as to why you are in your situation that may not be true.

Suggestions can spread in your mind like a virus

All of the sudden, since you respect the doctor’s professional designation, they can suggest something that you start to believe that was never a problem before.  That suggestion can be like a virus in your mind, spreading like wildfire until it manifests.  For example:

Psychologist says:  “So I see that you were abused as a child and because of that, you cannot have committed relationships.  And now I see that you are anxious and having bouts of depression.”

But the reality is that you have a loving partner and have had a couple of deep, committed relationships.

You may not always be in a great mood, but you didn’t consider yourself that anxious or even depressed.  Now that the psychologist, who you are taught respect, suggested this to you, you become anxious and depressed.

You believe the psychologist has knowledge that applies to you, though they have only known you for an hour or so.

As a result, you believe THEM over the truth that you have experienced.

Most psychologists know what they studied in school, but applying their knowledge to you is likely not ideal.  The chance of getting no results or worse results are high with this technique.

Are there some therapists that are super and are able to achieve results?  Yes.  But most are not able to achieve the results that will help you change and improve your life quickly or at all.  They don’t advertise quick change, otherwise, they would be out of a job.

Psychiatrists seem to be no better at achieving quick, lasting and positive change.  How well do these doctors know you?

For thirty minutes they will ask you a bunch of questions, then diagnose you  as depressed.

They will prescribe a drug for depression, and send you on your way.  This is not change.  This is dulling your senses to be able to deal with the pain, but the pain remains, so their solution is to renew your prescription, with no end in sight.

Side effects on the drug they prescribed often lists the symptom you are trying to escape.  So now, the doctor tells you that you are depressed, prescribes you depression pills that can make you depressed, and you will never know that you were not really depressed in the first place.  How is this making the patient better?

What is the Placebo Effect?

The patient takes what he thinks is medication.  It is a simple sugar pill. He gets better because his mind believes the pill is working.

Essentially, the power of the mind healed the patient.

Just like a disease can manifest in your body, so too can illness result from toxic thoughts.

Someone’s belief that they can not change quickly is a virus.  It is not real.  Change can come as quickly as you decide you are ready for it.  If you decide to let go all of the ideas and negative mindsets from the past, you can let bring about effective change quickly.
